Universitat Rovira i Virgili started the classes about European integration and gender on Thursday, with the assistance of more than fifty Law students.
Within the framework of the G-NET Network, Universitat Rovira i Virgili (URV) provides training to the students of Legal and Social Sciences in the process of European integration from the gender perspective. The subject taught by Inma Pastor, Laura Román and Ana Giménez has the aim of giving the necessary tools to the students to let them know:
- The current legislation
- The European proposals about equality
- The nstitutional characteristics and the decision process of the European Union (EU)
- The governing mechanisms for equality policies
When finishing the subject, it is expected that students will understand the juridical tools and the public policies that develop an effective equality between the citizens of all the Member States of the European Union. Classes will be held on Thursdays evenings from February to June. Moreover, the training will be reedited for the course 2016-2017.
URV has experience offering courses on European integration and gender, after delivering the Jean Monnet Module of European Integration and Gender, from 2011 to 2014.
