The European Commission selected the project “Equality training network: EU contributions Issue to gender mainstreaming and citizenship (G-NET)” to be funded within the call Jean Monnet Networks.
The project aims to create a network of European and Latin American universities for the development and implementation of training courses on gender mainstreaming in the European integration process.
Universitat Rovira i Virgili (Spain) leads the network, which also includes Freie Universität Berlin (Germany), Instituto Tecnológico de Costa Rica, Universidad del Valle de Guatemala,Universidad Nacional de Rosario (Argentina), Universidad Católica de Temuco (Chile) and Universidad Autónoma de Madrid (Spain).
Different courses will be held in the six participating countries during the three years of the project. They are directed to the teaching and research staff, university students and stakeholders.
The project is based on the instruments of the European Union to achieve equality between men and women, such as legislation and public policies. It aims to spread the principles and good practices within the regions of Latin America.
